Born in 1980.
In 2003 — graduated from the Baltic Fishing Fleet State Academy in Kaliningrad with a degree a maritime navigation.
2001–2003 — special correspondent for Komsomolskaya Pravda in Kaliningrad.
2003–2005 — staff writer at Kommersant Publishing House.
2005 — correspondent for the Izvestia newspaper.
2005–2007 — reviewer for Expert magazine.
In 2007 Kashin became a regular author and a deputy editor of the Ŗusskaya zhizn (The Russian Life) magazine. In 2009, Kashin returned to Kommersant as a special correspondent.
2013–2015 — lived in Geneva, continuing to write for Slon.ru, Colta.ru, Svpressa.ru and Sputnik & Pogrom publications.
In 2014, he started his own website Kashin.guru.
Kashin is the author of the books “Roissya v Perde” (2010), “Gorby Dream” (2014), “Rubik's Cube” (2015).
He lives in London.
