Born in 1968.
1992 — Graduated from the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics of Moscow State University.
1996 — MA, Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Department of Banking and Insurance.
2001–2003 — MBA, University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
1993–1994 — Head of the Department of Economic Analysis at Alfa Group.
1994–1995 — Board Deputy Chairman, Guta Financial Group.
1995–1997 — Head of the department for Economic Planning at Rossiysky Kredit bank.
1997–2002 — Executive Director of the Troika Dialog investment company.
From 2003 to 2009, Movchan headed Renaissance Investment Management Group, which he founded, and from 2006 to 2008, he was the CEO of Renaissance Credit Bank.
Movchan also founded the Third Rome investment company, and was its CEO and managing partner from 2009 until the end of 2013.
Since 2015 — Head of the Economic Policy Program at the Carnegie Moscow Center.
