1976–1990 — Researcher at The Institute for the USA and Canadian Studies, Moscow.

1990–2016 — Lecturer, then professor at the Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).

1996–1998 — Co-director of the “Transition Strategy to Market: Alternatives and Results” project at the World Institute for Economic Development Research in Helsinki.

2009–2015 — Advisor and Senior Expert at the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs.
