1970 — Graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University.
Candidate (1975) and Doctor (1990) of Historical Sciences.
1991–2002 — Worked as leading researcher at the Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO).
Since 2002 — Director of the Institute of Humanitarian Historical and Theoretical Research (since 2010 renamed Poletayev Institute for Theoretical and Historical Studies in the Humanities) at HSE, Moscow.
Since 2006 — Professor at HSE, Moscow.
Since 2008 — Visiting Professor at the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” at the University of Warsaw.
In 2013 Savelyeva was awarded the Medal of the Order “For Merit to the Fatherland”.
Lives in Moscow.
