Born in 1964.

1986 — graduated from the Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics at Moscow State University.

He worked as a school teacher before joined the “Fact” cooperative in 1989 (which later became the Kommersant publishing house).

1999–2011 — editor-in-chief “Kommersant-Vlast” magazine.

In 2011 — left Kommersant after its owner, Alisher Usmanov, became dissatisfied with the publication in Vlast of a newsletter containing swearing addressed to Vladimir Putin.

From July 2012 to February 2013 — editor-in-chief of OpenSpace.ru

2013 — returned to the Kommersant publishing house.
