Born in 1976. In 1998 she graduated from the sociological department of Moscow State University. Candidate of Historical Sciences (2002).

2002–2008 — Researcher at the Institute of Asia and Africa, RAS.

2008–2015 — Director of the Centre for History and Anthropology, Institute of Asia and Africa, Russian Academy of Sciences.

Since 2013 — professor at the Higher School of Economics National Research University, head of the Centre for High-Quality Social Policy Research at the Higher School of Economics.

Lives in Moscow.
