Born in 1989.

Member of the punk band Pussy Riot. In February 2012, Tolokonnikova participated in the activist performance “Punk Prayer. Our Lady, Get Putin Out!” in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour, Moscow. As a result, she was convicted for “hooliganism”, spending two years in a female penal colony and becoming one of the world’s most famous political prisoners. After her release, Tolokonnikova, along with Maria Alekhina, established the “Zona Prava” organization for the protection of prisoners' rights and the online publication “Mediazona”.
